I am rebuilding my old website, darwinisdead.com from scratch, and I could use your help!
Ask almost anyone why they believe in evolution and they will answer, "The evidence is overwhelming." Ask, "What evidence?", and they'll either give you a blank stare, or else they will begin to recite some of the standard evolutionary claims we've all heard since grade school: "Human DNA and Chimpanzee DNA are 98% identical," or "a fetus goes through all the stages of our past evolution," etc.
Many of these claims have long since been refuted and are no longer made by leading evolutionists. But somehow textbook publishers and the popular media either never got the memo, or else they continue to use these false claims because they so powerfully persuade the uninformed and the unsuspecting that evolution (universal common ancestry) is true. It isn't the evidence that overwhelms. It is the impression that the evidence is overwhelming that overwhelms people into believing evolution must be true.
The vision: The goal of Darwinisdead.com is to list the most common standard evolutionary claims one may encounter through the course of gaining an education, and to assign each claim its own page of links to papers, articles, and video clips all over the Internet. In a left hand column, papers, articles, and video clips by evolutionists will pitch the claim. The purpose of these is to let the promoters of evolution speak for themselves, so no one can say we have misrepresented them. Then, in a right hand column, papers, articles and videos will challenge each evolutionary claim and uncover its underlying assumptions and logical fallacies.
Once visitors discover the evolutionary claims they have grown up believing are either conceded to be false by knowledgeable evolutionists, or else are hotly contested on scientific grounds, the bubble will pop. The illusion that the evidence for evolution is overwhelming will implode.How you can helpIf you would like to help, please send me a list of evolutionary claims you have encountered along life's journey, especially those claims that seemed most persuasive at the time.
