Future Programs without Dates

We will show two documentary films, the Moody Institute of Science Classic, "Where the Waters Run" and Illustra Media's "Living Waters - Intelligent Design in the Oceans of the Earth.

When I (Jim Pamplin) went to work for the Moody Institute of Science (MIS) in 1969, they hadn't released a new documentary in over ten years.  During my brief stint in the film production department I was given a small room with a desk and the assignment to brainstorm ideas for new films.  For months on end, I made list after list of ideas for films and shared them with Dr. Irwin A. Moon, the Director.  Some times Dr. Moon would shake his head.  Sometimes he would grunt.  On one occasion he said, "I wouldn't touch that with a ten-foot pole."  Eventually, I ran out of ideas, having never received a nod of approval for so much as a single suggestion.  I went home that night to the campus of Azusa Pacific College, where my young bride was still finishing her degree, and shared my frustration.  Sue said, "Have you ever thought about water?" and began to list some of its uniquely critical properties, without which life on Earth would be impossible.

I went to see Dr. Moon.  As soon as I said the word, "water," his eyes glazed over and he began spouting bits of memorized monologue.  Evidently, the subject had been rattling around in his head for some time.  And guess what!  Inspired by Sue's suggestion, MIS made a movie about water!  Later, after the Moody Institute of Science closed its doors, Lad Alan and other former employees founded the outstanding producer of Christian documentaries, Illustra Media.  One of its many eye-catching, penetrating films is titled, " Living Waters - Intelligent Design in the Oceans of the Earth ," the second installment of tonight's double feature.
