Gordon Wilson, Ph.D. Biology, producer of The Riot and the Dance movies, Part 1:Earth, and Part 2:Water, gave a thought-provoking and spiritually challenging lecture on the subject of his new book, "A Different Shade of Green - A biblical approach to environmentalism and the Dominion Mandate." About our speaker: Dr. Wilson is a Senior Fellow of Natural History, responsible for New Saint Andrews College Natural History Colloquium and science electives, in Moscow, Idaho. He received his Ph.D. from George Mason University in Environmental Science and Public Policy in 2003. He holds a Master of Science degree in Entomology and a Bachelor’s degree in Education (Secondary Education-Biology) from the University of Idaho. He joined the New Saint Andrews faculty in 2003 and was promoted to the rank of Senior Fellow in 2006. Dr. Wilson’s research focuses on the reproductive ecology of the Eastern Box Turtle (Terrapene carolina carolina). He has published his research, field notes, and abstracts in Southeastern Naturalist, Herpetological Review, Catesbeiana, and the Virginia Journal of Science. Dr. Wilson taught in the Department of Biology at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, from 1991 to 2003. He also taught at Lynchburg College, and served as a lab instructor in entomology at the University of Idaho, 1988-1989. He taught at Logos School during the 1988-1989 academic year. Dr. Wilson hosted the June 2005 Baraminology Study Group National Conference held at New Saint Andrews. Dr. Wilson is a Logos Research Associate. Dr. Wilson is author of the recent textbook, The Riot and the Dance: Foundational Biology (2014), and, most recently, A Different Shade of Green (2019). He is a regular contributor at Answers in Genesis. Dr. Wilson and his wife Meredith have four children and a growing collection of grandchildren. Dr. Bernard Brandstater, 91, has received his crown. Surrounded by family, retired Anesthesiology Professor, Dr. Bernard Brandstater passed away peacefully Friday night, January 17, at Loma Linda University Hospital. He had recently received surgery to replace two infected heart valves. Pneumonia followed. Dr. Brandstater spoke to the Creation Science Fellowship of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa on several occasions, and drove many times from his home in Redlands to hear and meet our visiting guest scientists. He often hosted notable researchers in his own home, where he assembled professors and scientists from Loma Linda University to hear them and to engage in discussion. Dr. Brandstater was also a Logos Research Associate. We will miss Bernard's deep sonorous voice, graced with his pleasant Australian accent, his quick wit, and his all-consuming enthusiasm of creation science and Intelligent Design. We'll miss him for a while, that is. Reunion is certain, and Resurrection Day is coming, thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ!

Heinz Lycklama, Ph.D. Nuclear Physics, gave a presentation titled, "Evolution's Showstopper." Description: All attempts by evolutionists to show that first life from non-life by natural processes can be explained by evolution have come to naught for four main reasons: 1) The Law of Biogenesis confirmed by Pasteur in 1864. 2) The failure of experiments like that of Miller in 1953 to show that life can come from non-life. 3) The mathematical probability of forming the first living cell by random chance processes is beyond possible, and 4) The information in a cell (DNA) requires an intelligent mind. The failure of the origin of first life from non-life by natural processes is actually a show stopper for evolution. Psalm 139:14, I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. |
